Why we built AppMecca

AppMecca exists because deploying your app
shouldn't be the hard part.

We started AppMecca because we were tired of watching brilliant developers spend weeks wrestling with infrastructure instead of shipping features. Heroku simplified the early days, but it became expensive and limiting. AWS gave us power but demanded expertise we didn't have time to gain. We knew there had to be a better way.

Building AppMecca, we made a bet: that thoughtful defaults, honest pricing, and a focus on developer experience could beat both simplicity and power in a head-to-head matchup. We bet that if we made deployment boring — just a command, just a few minutes — developers would actually enjoy the process. That deployment could be the easy part, the part that doesn't slow you down.

We run our own platform on AppMecca — the dashboard you'll use, the docs you'll read, and the API behind both are all deployed by the same pipeline your app will use. If it breaks, it breaks for us first.

AppMecca is built for the stretch between an MVP and a Series A: the years when you need real infrastructure and cannot yet justify someone to run it. That's the company we're building this for, and the one we'd like you to be.

We're in early access now, onboarding our first teams one at a time. And we're just getting started...

AppMecca is built by Unomena, a software studio in Cape Town, South Africa.

Principles, not just features

Shipping should be simple

Deploy in seconds, not weeks. Your infrastructure complexity is our problem, not yours.

Pricing should be honest

What you see is what you pay. No per-seat surprises, no metered hidden costs. Period.

Your code is yours

No vendor lock-in. Export your data, move whenever you want. You own what you build.

AI changes everything

Your coding agent should be able to ship, not just write. We document the platform for machines as carefully as for people.

Uptime is non-negotiable

Your app runs on a fleet spread across availability zones, behind health checks that pull a bad instance out before your users meet it. Ask for a second replica and your service runs in two zones at once.

Docs matter

Clear, complete, and actually maintained. No mystery. Everything you need to succeed.

Roadmap

Building features that matter for the future of shipping.

Deploy from your AI agent

An MCP server, so Claude, Cursor or any MCP-compatible assistant can deploy, check status and read logs directly. Today our agent guide gets you there through the CLI; this makes it native.

Deploy notifications

Know when a deploy lands or fails without watching a terminal — email, Slack, and outbound webhooks into whatever you already run.

Preview environments per pull request

Open a PR, get a disposable URL running that branch with its own database. Close the PR, it disappears.

Staging with cloned data

Spin up a copy of production — data and all — to rehearse a migration against something real before you run it for real.

More regions

Country-code environments beyond the US — Germany, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, Australia. The groundwork is laid; each one is a config file and a DNS delegation away.

A free trial

Fourteen days to build something real before you decide, with no card up front.
